
- In 2014-15 the Greater London Authority (GLA) delivered 17,875 affordable homes.
- In 2015-16 that number fell to 4,881.
- This year, 422 affordable homes have been completed, against a forecast of 9,984.[1]
The Mayor has specific responsibilities for strategic housing, regeneration and economic development. These include producing a statutory housing strategy, providing new affordable homes, improving existing social rented homes, managing a portfolio of public land and delivering regeneration projects.[2]
Tomorrow, the London Assembly Budget Monitoring Sub-Committee will examine the GLA’s progress with its current affordable housing programmes, the Mayor’s housing commitments and expectations for the 2016 Autumn Statement and housing settlement.
