Questions to the men who advise the Mayor

Two of the Mayor’s personal advisers will appear before the GLA Oversight Committee tomorrow to talk about their roles in the Mayor’s team.

The purpose of Nick Bowes’ role is:

  • To provide broad policy advice to the Mayor of London
  • To develop and maintain effective partnerships with a wide range of specialist stakeholders to ensure a fully inclusive approach to the development and implementation of the Mayor’s policies

The purpose of Patrick Hennessey’s role is:

  • To develop and lead on the media and communications strategy and policy development to support the priorities and objectives of the Mayor and GLA
  • To advise the Mayor on matters relating to media and communications and act as the Mayor’s official spokesperson
  • To provide direction to the GLA Press team and work across the GLA Group to achieve communications on behalf of the Mayor

Tomorrow, the GLA Oversight Committee will find out how important these roles are to the Mayor and the GLA. The guests are:

  • Nick Bowes, Mayoral Director, Policy
  • Patrick Hennessy, Mayoral Director, Communications

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 30th January from 10.00am in The Chamber, at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
