The Adult Education Budget improves the skills and qualifications of adults both in and out of work. It funds qualifications including basic English and Maths, while employers can use it to support staff with career opportunities and progression.
The Mayor took over responsibility for allocating Adult Education Budget funding at the start of the 2019/20 academic year. It is worth approximately £344 million for the 2022/23 academic year.
What changes has the Mayor made to how the Adult Education Budget is spent since it was delegated in 2019? Has this improved opportunities for adults in London?
