The Metropolitan Police Service and London Fire Brigade, both part of the Greater London Authority family, own land across London - as does the NHS. With the Mayor’s target to build 116,000 new affordable homes by 2022, how is he using the powers available to him to make use of public land for housing developments?
Tomorrow the London Assembly Regeneration Committee will examine the Mayor’s initiatives aimed at promoting the release of public land to deliver new homes.
The following guests will attend:
- James Murray, Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development, GLA
- Justin Carr, Assistant Director, Public Land, GLA
- David Gooch, Director of Development, Network Homes
- Peter Lewis, Interim Chief Finance Officer, Mayor’s Office for Police and Crime
- Matthew Punshon, Interim Director of Estate Strategy, Metropolitan Police Service
- Martin Rooney, Director of Partnerships, NHS Strategic Estates Planning Service
- Sue Budden, Director of Corporate Services, London Fire Brigade
- Lester Hampton, Director of Property Development, Transport for London
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 9 October at 2.00pm in the Chamber, City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via the webcast and on our YouTube channel.
