Equalities issues were a key feature of the Mayor’s manifesto; however, detailed policy documents or strategies have yet to be released.
In 2016, Greater London Authority (GLA) figures found that despite women making up a majority of the overall workforce, only 7 out of 25 staff members on £94,000 and above were women. In response, the GLA announced a Gender Pay Gap Action Plan which “will continue to monitor this to address any differential in pay between men and women in the organisation.”
Tomorrow, the GLA Oversight Committee will ask questions about measuring progress in this area. The Committee will also discuss the budget increase for the Diversity and Social Policy team, new initiatives and child poverty.
The guests are:
- Matthew Ryder QC, Deputy Mayor for Social Integration, Social Mobility and Community Engagement
- Amanda Coyle, Assistant Director, Health & Communities
The meeting will take place on Thursday, 29 June from 10:00am in Committee Room 5 at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via webcast or YouTube
