During the last opportunity for the London Assembly Police and Crime Committee to hold the current Mayor to account over crime in the capital, the Mayor of London, the Met Commissioner and the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) will tomorrow present MOPAC’s annual report.
It will examine the Mayor’s commitments set out in the Police and Crime Plan[1] and his manifesto[2]. The Mayor’s manifesto pledges were:
To increase public confidence by 20%
To reduce key neighbourhood crimes by 20%
To cut costs by 20%
MOPAC has said it is on target to reduce key neighbourhood crimes by 20% - but has it moved the goalposts?
Questions will also cover:
What is in place to protect against terrorist attacks in the capital.
Measures being taken to deal with the increase in young people becoming victims of knife crime.

The meeting will take place on Thursday 9 July from 10:00am in the Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
