Full occupation of the new City Hall at Royal Docks was originally scheduled for October 2021.
The Mayor and London Assembly took permanent residence in the new building this week – a delay of five months.
The GLA Oversight Committee will tomorrow consider the effectiveness of the management and delivery of the programme to relocate City Hall, with a focus on:
- The management and delivery of the capital programme
- The impact on Londoners, particularly residents of Newham and Southwark
- The impact on the organisation and staff
- The impact on the London Assembly and effective democracy in London
- The costs of the project and the savings that will be delivered through the relocation to the GLA Group over five years
- The rationale for the decision and whether this is still valid

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 23 March from 2:00pm, in The Chamber, new City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way.
