In the face of stretched public funding, their income at risk from Universal Credit and the uncertainty of life after Brexit, Housing Associations are looking at options to plug the funding gaps.
London’s Housing Associations provide homes to thousands of lower-income residents in the capital. They are under pressure to build more and more much-needed homes but are struggling to maintain balance between investing in new developments and maintaining existing stock. This balancing act has left some long-term tenants feeling alienated and forgotten in properties that urgently need repair.
The Housing Committee will tomorrow meet to discuss the changing nature of the Housing Association sector and hold them to account as primary recipients of the Mayor’s housing fund. The guests are:
- David Montague, Chief Executive, L&Q
- Helen Evans, Chief Executive, Network Homes and Vice Chair of g15
- Geeta Nanda OBE, Chief Executive, Metropolitan
- Rod Cahill, Chief Executive, Catalyst
The meeting will take place on Thursday, 4 October at 2.00pm in Committee Room 5, City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend
