Biodiesel use in local authority fleets - a cost benefit analysis

We want to inspire a biodiesel revolution in London. We are helping to turn London's waste oils and fats into renewable biodiesel to power our buses and public fleets. By switching fuel from 100 per cent diesel to a 20 per cent biodiesel and 80 per cent diesel blend vehicles can achieve up to 15 per carbon dioxide (CO2) savings.

This report shows that switching to biodiesel is a cost effective measure for local authorities to cut CO2 emissions with no worse impact on air quality. The costs and benefits of switching to biodiesel are presented alongside other alternative fuels and common non-transport related CO2 reduction measures. The report also includes a toolkit that can be used to support a business case for making the switch to biodiesel.
