
London Fire Commissioner
The London Fire Commissioner (LFC) is a functional body of the Greater London Authority. The LFC runs the London Fire Brigade (LFB), serving as both London’s fire and rescue authority (FRA) and its chief fire officer.
Key Highlights:
- Total revenue expenditure by the LFB of £621.7 million.1 This is a 0.1 per cent increase from £621.0 million forecast for 2024-25 and 7.3 per cent from the £579.2 million budgeted for that year.2 3
- An £18 million funding gap for 2025-26, increasing to £32 million in 2026-27 and £30 million in 2027-28.4
- This follows an expected £9 million overspend forecast for 2024-25.5
- The budget submission highlights a “real term’s funding reduction of £150 million since 2010.”6
