Summary of request
You requested
I am requesting information with reference to the ULEZ Penalty Charge Notices issued from the date the zone was expanded into the London Post Code of SE22 in 2021.
I am interested in the value of fines issued up to the 30th January 2022 from the date of the expanded zone. And what percentage of the ULEZ revenue in that period is recovered in fines.
Can you also provide me with information to how the revenue from the fines is used .
I understand that debt recovery and bailiffs are used to recover unpaid fines can you provide me with the costs incurred by outsourcing the debt collection within the same period, assuming a fee is paid for the recovery of debt.
With reference to goods seized by bailiffs can you also provide the value and type of goods seized along with revenue generated by seized goods. I understand that property seized can include items, such as, cars.
Our response
It is a statutory requirement that Transport for London (TfL) reinvest all net revenue from enforcement of the Ultra Low Emission Zone scheme into London’s transport services. TfL reports its spending for each year in its Annual Report and Statement of Accounts, which are published on its website.
The GLA does not hold most of the information within the scope of your request. We would suggest you redirect the request to TfL. You can submit Freedom of Information requests to TfL by email ([email protected]) or using the form at the following web page: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information.
