David Gallie

Biography

David is responsible for co-ordinating and controlling the preparation of the Mayor’s £16bn budget covering police, transport, fire and the Mayor’s Development Corporations. He is also responsible for managing the GLA’s treasury function which has investments of over £2bn and borrowings of over £4bn.

Prior to joining the GLA in 2010, David has worked for four other local authorities in London, leading the finance function in one and managing all the education support service functions in another. David is a non-Executive Director on two multi-academy trusts in London.

David holds a first class honours degree in Economics from the LSE and a distinction in his master’s degree in Politics and Administration from Birkbeck College. He is a fully qualified member of CIPFA.
