The Mayor’s draft consolidated 2026-27 budget

The Mayor’s draft consolidated budget was published on 15 January 2026 and included total Greater London Authority (GLA) Group budgeted expenditure for 2026-27 of £22.7 billion.1

This is an increase of £287m from the Mayor’s consultation budget in December, which was £22.4 billion.2

The London Assembly Budget and Performance Committee scrutinises the Mayor’s budget process and on Monday, the Committee will speak to the Mayor of London about his draft consolidated budget for 2026-27, where the additional money has come from, and how it will be spent for Londoners.

The Committee will question the Mayor on a number of key topics, including changes to the budget, Transport for London fares, Met officer numbers and the Oxford Street development plans.

The guests are:

  • Sir Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London
  • David Bellamy, Mayor’s Chief of Staff
  • Fay Hammond, Chief Finance Officer, GLA

The meeting will take place on Monday 26 January 2026 from 10am in the Chamber at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.

Media and members of the public are invited to attend.

The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
