Unpaid ULEZ fines

In September 2024, the London Assembly was informed that Transport for London (TfL) was owed £376 million in unpaid Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs).

The Budget and Performance Committee will publish a letter to the Mayor, outlining a number of recommendations to reduce the amount of bad debt owed to TfL.

High Street visit - How resilient are London's high streets?

The Economy, Culture and Skills Committee is investigating the impact of recent economic instability, alongside recovery from the pandemic, on the capital's high streets.

As part of the investigation, the committee will visit a local London high street and hold a roundtable discussion with local stakeholders. The Committee will meet with representatives from the London Borough of Haringey, as well as Greater London Authority (GLA) officers, to hear how Mayoral policies have helped projects on Wood Green high street.

Primary School visit – supervised toothbrushing

Health Committee

Members of the London Assembly Health Committee will visit Brentfield Primary School, where they will observe supervised toothbrushing, an initiative to reduce tooth decay in young children. The visit will form part of the Committee’s investigation into Dentistry in London.

How to increase food growing in London

With local production and farming accounting for less than one per cent of the capital’s food supply, what work is the Mayor doing to increase local food growing in London?

The Environment Committee will meet to examine the Mayor’s policies and funding opportunities aimed at increasing community food growing.  The guests are:

Reviewing changes made before the Mayoral and London Assembly elections

Elections Review Working Group – Committee Rooms 2 & 3, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 2pm

The Elections Review Working Group will hold the final meeting of its investigation into the planning, conduct and costs of the May 2024 Mayor of London and London Assembly elections.

Representatives from the Government and Electoral Commission will be asked about the impact of changes made before the elections, including the introduction of a photo ID requirement, before academics and think tanks offer their views. The guests are:

Ending rough sleeping in London

Housing Committee – The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

Latest figures show an increase in the number of people sleeping rough for at least one night in Autumn 2023. The Mayor’s election manifesto included a commitment to ending rough sleeping in London by 2030.

The Housing Committee will ask what needs to be done if the Mayor is to meet his commitment and how at-risk groups such as young people and refugees can be better supported. The guests are:
