The London Assembly Research Unit will publish a paper on London’s housing stock, including details on the number, size, condition, cost, age and ownership of London’s homes.

Homes for women leaving prison

Housing Committee – Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

Over half of women leaving prison are released without stable accommodation, and more than 1 in 10 will be sleeping rough when they return to the community.

The London Assembly Housing Committee will ask charities, experts and representatives from the Greater London Authority (GLA) what the challenges facing these women are and how they affect their lives. Guests include:

Wednesday 13 November

Accessibility and Inclusion in Transport Planning

Transport Committee – Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

The London Assembly Transport Committee will ask guests about the issues Network Rail’s Access for All programme has faced, and how Network Rail engages with the transport users it aims to help.

Assembly Members will also question representatives from Transport for London (TfL) about the Dial-a-Ride service, TfL’s door-to-door service for those who cannot use public transport because of permanent or long-term disabilities. The guests are:

Thursday 14 November

London’s High Streets

Economy, Culture and Skills Committee – Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

The London Assembly Economy, Culture and Skills Committee will meet to question experts on the main challenges and opportunities for London’s high streets, following recent economic instability.

The Committee will aim to identify what support for high streets is being provided by the Government, the Mayor, and local authorities, and examine how high streets in London can contribute to economic growth and cultural value.
