Response:
The number of public servants at the Greater London Authority has increased to reflect the rise in powers and responsibilities since Sadiq Khan became Mayor particularly regarding skills, housing and health and care.
A significant number of new posts have been created to help deliver more genuinely affordable homes for Londoners as a result of the record levels of funding that he secured.
Further posts have been created due to the devolution of adult skills funding to London, allowing the Mayor to give Londoners the skills they need for the jobs of the future. These are funded through the money he won from the Government, not council tax or business rates.
