Summary of request
Your request
Level 7 PSH Advanced Housing Course
1. I would like details of the course funded by the GLA and described in this post.
The course link in the editors note to that post is incorrect and I am therefore requesting details of the course title and content of the correct Level 5 course.
2. I would also like to request a copy of any correspondence where the Level 7 PSH
Advanced Housing Course was provided to your office. I would like to know how this
misinformation about the course details came about.
Our response
1. Thank you for contacting the Mayor with your query and concerns about an incorrect link.
I have checked and the incorrect link was still displaying on the press release, despite us
working to resolve this in February 2022 shortly after the press release was published.
This may have been as a result of an old version of the release being uploaded as the press release archive was uploaded to our new website, or human error.
There is no webpage or online platform which displays our Private Rented Sector Qualification with the University of Middlesex and the Chartered Institute of Housing online.
This is because it is a very new course and was closed to London-based officers, then offered more widely to interested authorities.
We have now removed the incorrect link from the press release.
Please find enclosed with this response a copy of the module breakdown and original course syllabus we developed with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. The course now being delivered by the University of Middlesex differs from this original syllabus as teaching materials and new topics were added or amended to suit borough needs.
To confirm, the course is a Level 5 qualification, accreditable by the Chartered Institute of
Environmental Health.
2. Please find attached the information we hold within the scope of your request. Please note that the incorrect link was inserted into the GLA press release. There is no recorded
information held in terms of why this occurred.
Please note that some names of members of staff are exempt from disclosure under Section 40 (Personal information) of the Freedom of Information Act. This information could
potentially identify specific employees and as such constitutes as personal data which is
defined by Article 4(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to mean any
information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual. It is considered that
disclosure of this information would contravene the first data protection principle under
Article 5(1) of GDPR which states that personal data must be processed lawfully, fairly and
in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject
