Your request

I would like to request freedom of information concerning the period between 1 January 2016 to 12 May 2016. I would like to request that you search all of your recorded information for the following:

I would like to request copies of all documentation in your possession, from that time period, that fulfils the following criteria:

1. Created or co-created by Will Walden, or for the benefit of Will Walden
2. Takes the form of a press release or an internal communication. Or
3. Consists of communications strategy for the benefit of the Mayor of London and/or GLA.

Will Walden is on the record as having assisted the Mayor of London with multiple public events during this time period. My request concerns documentation produced during the same period.

Our response

Please note that all email accounts belonging to the former Mayoral team have now been deleted and unless archived by staff members, all emails within their inbox and sent items from this time would have been deleted after a three-month period. I have checked with the relevant teams at the GLA to see if any further information is held and they have confirmed that there is not.

In relation part 3 of your request, we hold a ‘Use of resources’ guidance report which was produced by the Monitoring Officer in post at the time. This will hopefully provide you with some background on the use of wider GLA resources at this time. Whilst Boris Johnson’s pro-Brexit activity (media appearances, newspaper columns) may well have involved Will Walden; it would be unlikely to have involved other GLA resource in form of a ‘communications strategy’ or press releases.
