Social Media Volunteer - Brent Carers Centre

What will I be doing?

• Keeping up to date with Brent Carers Centres many activities and informing the public via regular Social Media Posts. Generating content for Social Media by interacting with our Unpaid Carers and posting interesting stories or facts about their experiences. Thinking of interesting ideas for content about our Carers experiences and challenges that could bring awareness to the public about the roles of Unpaid Carers.
• Create interesting articles around the experiences of our Unpaid Carers for Newspapers and Magazines.
• Bring awareness to the General Public, about the interesting stories and experiences of our Unpaid Carers and their Cared-for loved ones.

What impact will this have?

• The Volunteer will be able to bring awareness to the General Public of the work of Unpaid Carers who across the U.K save the NHS over 132 Billion pounds per annum.
• They will help to raised the profile of our Brent Carers Centre's unpaid selfless Carers.
• They will help bring to the attention the stories of the Cared-for who rely on the selflessness of our Unpaid Carers.

Commitment

• We would like someone who will be able to consistently keep our Social Media presence updated with interesting content.
• We would like a person who is able to think of Creative ways to engage the public with the work of Brent Carers Centre on a regular weekly basis.

What else do I need to know?

• We would like to help the Volunteer to make use of all the latest technology in this role and have Mentors with over 25 years experience in Tech to aid them.

Expenses

• We cover travel expenses related to this role upon presentation of receipts and lunch for over 4 hours work within one day upon presentation of receipt.

Background checks

• A DBS check is required

Training

• We will train the Volunteers about the various activities of interest that would make wonderful stories for News articles and Social Media campaigns.
