What will I be doing?

  • Define the social media strategy and produce a content calendar to drive engaging content and enhance the charity's reputation. Working as a team to create a monthly content design plan to enhance our social media accounts and online presence.
  • To work alongside -. Trustees. The communications volunteer team. Fundraising manager to ensure that social media enhances fundraising applications and campaigns.
  • Strengthen our brand and image by posting relevant and original content to encourage the use and creation of community gardens. Ensuring that the social media content is updated, interesting, and creative.
  • Increase our number of followers and monitor, track, analyse and report on campaign performance.

What impact will this have?

  • Enhance awareness of Greening Communities by the public, politicians, media, funders, and social landlords.
  • Create visually interesting content to inspire new generations of community urban gardeners.
  • Green our city and thereby reduce the carbon volume.
  • Bring nature back to the city to increase biodiversity.
  • Improve the health and well-being of residents by being out of doors, taking exercise, and healthy fresh food growing – with zero food miles.
  • Tackling inequality and poverty in the city by increasing the accessibility to the outdoors for low-income and vulnerable communities.

Commitment

  • Greening Communities supports tenants to launch their community gardens on social housing estates. We shall establish 50 new gardens annually in London. We are offering you the opportunity to be appointed as our Volunteer Social Media & Creative Director. Upload social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and to our website blog. Create visual graphics describing our activities and the community benefit. Develop educational materials to enhance London’s community gardens.
  • The time commitment would be circa 5 hours per week.

What else do I need to know?

  • WORKING TIME. You are welcome to do the work at any time that suits you. We envisage that you would take around three days to complete the work.
  • WORKING VENUE. Seeds for Growth cannot provide you with working premises, however, you may undertake the work from wherever you wish.
  • COVID-19. The work would be undertaken completely remotely – no face-to-face meetings are envisaged with Seeds for Growth or to do the volunteer task. So, we have not included COVID-19 precautions.

Expenses

  • We will be pleased to cover your direct expenses such as stationery, telephone, and travel, etc.
