What will I be doing?

  • You will be providing vital support for the running of the Hammersmith Social Group by making our visitors feel welcome and be part of making the café a local and friendly place to visit. You will contribute to setting up/opening and packing away/closing of the social group.
  • As the Social Group Assistant Volunteer you will be a point of contact for visitors who use the café.
  • You will replenish and appropriately display food and drinks so everyone is refreshed.
  • Our group attendees will be delighted to see you there helping.
  • Your support will be very appreciated by all those helping and attending the social group.
  • We ask you adhering to LIC client confidentiality and escalate any concerns and safeguarding issues to staff.

What impact will this have?

  • Your support for the running of the Hammersmith Social Group will help to create a friendly and welcoming environment for all those who attend the group each week.
  • You will help our group attendees keep your spirits up and perhaps offer advice and support for ways to get through difficult times.
  • You will be helping to reduce loneliness by ensuring our group attendees will have an afternoon of friendly faces to look forward to seeing each week.
  • You will help reduce isolation within the community by helping with the running of this group.

Commitment

  • Tuesday and/or Friday, 12-15.30 pm. Average minimum commitment of 2-4 shifts a month.

  • The London Irish Centre follows all UK government COVID guidance.

Expenses

  • Out of pocket expenses’ will be covered to pre agreed limits.

Background checks

  • A DBS check is required
