Royal Docks

Royal Docks & Beckton Riverside Opportunity Area

The Mayor of London, Newham Council and Transport for London are working together to prepare an Opportunity Area Planning Framework for the Royal Docks & Beckton Riverside.

What are we trying to achieve?

This working draft sets out a series of plans indicating how we can continue the regeneration of the area and realise the potential to provide 25,500 new homes and 60,000 new jobs. The Royal Docks has a proud history at the forefront of international trade and exchange. There is enormous potential in this area to provide both a world-class business destination and new homes for a growing London. The coming of Crossrail and new crossings over the Thames, such as the Silvertown Tunnel, place the Royal Docks in the vanguard of the City in the East.
