Applying to become a Creative Enterprise Zone
Applications are now closed for boroughs to apply for an accredited Creative Enterprise Zone. A further three zones were created in 2022/23.
Please check back for updates.
There is a two-stage application process:
- Self-assessment and submitting an expression of interest
- Full application
Stage one
Stage one consists of a simple form that asks for indicative responses to the following prompts:
- What the Creative Enterprise Zone proposition is and where it will be located,
- what the rationale for the proposed Creative Enterprise Zone is,
- how the Creative Enterprise Zone aligns with strategic priorities,
- what resources will be invested into the zone,
- if internal and external stakeholders buy into the current proposition,
- how will stakeholders be involved in delivering, governing and shaping the Creative Enterprise Zone, once accredited.
It also asks for the completion of a self-scoring draft action plan which details what activity could be delivered in the zone.
If boroughs feel that the self-assessment scores well, they may submit it to the GLA accreditation panel. This is considered an expression of interest.
This programme is only open to London boroughs to apply. Boroughs that wish to apply should email [email protected] for more information.
If you are an artist or creative business interested in finding out more about the Creative Enterprise Zones in your area, you can find out more on our zones pages.
Stage two
If successful at stage one, boroughs will be invited to progress to stage two and produce a full application. This builds upon the stage one self-assessment, requiring responses to additional prompts and a fully completed action plan that responds to stage one feedback. It is at this stage that grant funding of £70,000 to support the delivery of the programme can be applied for.
