Biography
Sarah, working part time in a job-share with Halima Khan, is responsible for overseeing the delivery and implementation of the Mayor’s priorities and strategies in policy areas including social integration, equality and fairness, skills and employment, health and education, volunteering, and sport.
Sarah and Halima also oversee the work of the Community Engagement Team.
Prior to joining the GLA in 2015, Sarah spent seven years at the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) where she led work on migration, communities, employment and family policy.
Sarah started her career as an economist in HM Treasury, and has held a range of policy, research and advocacy roles in government and civil society organisations, working on both international and domestic issues.
Sarah represents the GLA on the board of London Funders.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the management and development of the functions allotted to the GLA’s Communities and Skills directorate including, Skills and Employment, Health, Education and Youth, Team London and Community Sport and Communities and Social Policy.
