Impact to residents and guests

All residents living within an event footprint area will be able to access their home, no matter how busy an area gets.

Usual routes to your property may be busier than normal and you are advised to plan accordingly.

If you are concerned about access to your property or deliveries, please email [email protected]

Travel

When the Champions Festival sites and fan meeting points are open, these areas will be busier than usual.

All London underground stations will be open, but some bus routes may be on diversion during road closures.

Allow more time for travel and plan any journeys in advance using TfL journey planner.

Cleaning and waste

There will be regular cleaning of the sites throughout the build and event period.

We will have additional services, such as litter pickers, to ensure that the event keeps up the high standards of cleaning in the Westminster area.

With the support of Westminster City Council, we will start the post event clean up as soon as practically possible. We will ensure all sites are returned to normal before the roads are re-opened.

Safety and security

Safety and security is the GLA’s upmost priority and it is working with all the relevant authorities to ensure the public’s safety during the events.

Each event will operate a bag restriction policy. This means no backpacks or suitcases larger than A4 will be allowed. Searches will be conducted on entry to the sites where deemed necessary.

There will also be a significant stewarding, crowd management and policing during the events.

Noise levels

All events will have stage areas with live entertainment, live bands and DJ sets.

The sound systems have been focused to target the audience within the event perimeter, to reduce the level of external noise.

We will appoint a noise management company who will monitor noise levels throughout the  event, to reduce impact to local businesses and residents.

CCTV

CCTV cameras will be in operation within and around the event footprint areas. The cameras are used by trained operators and are vital in assisting the GLA’s event production company, LS Events, to monitor crowd flow throughout the events.

Reporting issues

During the event period and build, we will have a dedicated phone line for businesses and residents to report any issues. This will be shared closer to the event.
