Monmouth House public hearing
In his role of making strategic planning decisions for London, the Mayor may occasionally take over an application, therefore becoming the local planning authority. He must then hold a public hearing before deciding whether or not to grant planning permission.
In this instance, the Mayor took over the application for the redevelopment of Monmouth House.
Background to the public hearing
On 22 October 2015 Islington advised the Mayor it was minded to refuse planning permission for the redevelopment proposals for Monmouth House.
On 4 November 2015, having considered a report on the case (reference D&P/3698/02), the Mayor notified Islington that he would act as the local planning authority for the purposes of determining the above-mentioned planning application (under article 7 of the Mayor of London Order and the powers conferred by Section 2A of the 1990 Town and Country Planning Act).
The Local Planning Authority reference assigned to the application is P2015/3136/FUL. The GLA reference is D&P3698

Representation Hearing
A public representation hearing is due to be held in the chamber at City Hall on Monday 8 February 2016, starting at 10am for the Mayor to consider this application in detail and determine whether or not planning permission should be granted.
The hearing is open to the public. The chamber has a capacity of 250 people and the space is fully accessible.
