Culture & the Night-Time Economy Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG)
London is an exciting and vibrant city 24 hours a day. The Mayor wants to make London’s night-time economy and culture an even richer proposition.
This supplementary planning guidance (SPG) offers guidance and case studies on how to implement current London Plan (2016) policies to protect and enhance culture and the night-time economy in our city.
What are the aims of this SPG?
- to provide guidance on using London Plan polices to protect and enhance cultural venues
- a focus on how to offer more protection for pubs and explaining the ‘Agent of Change’ principle
- promoting the night-time economy and night-time cultural offer whilst achieving a balance with the needs of local residents
- making culture and the night-time economy more inclusive and accessible
- looking at ways to manage the impacts of the night-time economy
