On Thursday or Friday, police officers erected metal detector arches in front of the entrance of McDonald’s in Romford town centre (125 South Street, Town Centre Romford, RM1 1NX).

All McDonald customers were obliged to pass through.

1- Under which powers did this occur?

2- If it occurred under s.60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994,

   a- What was the defined area and the defined time period?

3- What did the police do to publicise the existence of the s.60 powers?

4- Please provide written copies of the authorisation
