Executive summary
The purpose of this report is to seek the approval of the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime for a pathfinder implementation of ForSITE, delivering a minimal viable case management product that covers the end-to-end process for the Fingerprint Lifts sub-service within Forensics.
Recommendation
The Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime is recommended to:
• Approve the proposed spend of £841k capital above the original Final Business Case approvals.
• Note that the capital programme approved in February 2018 had been amended to reflect the latest estimate and will now be adjusted to reflect the spend profile in this business case. No additional capital is required.
• Agree an additional £53k of on-going Revenue costs above the Final Business Case revenue costs of £515k. The additional revenue costs will be funded from the Digital Policing revenue budgets.

1. Introduction and background
1.1. The purpose of the ForSITE project was to deliver a business process case management system (CMS) and Laboratory Information Management system (LIMs) to manage the workflow of requests for Forensics Services, from crime scene/request to outcomes reported back.
2. Issues for consideration
2.1. This pathfinder will test the four applications for the end-to-end process, and the project delivery approach, for a sub-service within Forensic Services; Digitised Workflow for Search against Fingerprint Lifts from BCU Central North, to prove viability of ForSITE project and deliver operational benefits to investigations.
3. Financial Comments
3.1. The additional capital spend of £841k is funded within the revised capital programme for 2018/19.
3.2. The additional £53k of ongoing revenue costs is funded from within existing budgets.
