Response
Thank you for your request for information which the Mayor’s Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC) received on June 21.
I can confirm that your request has been being handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and that MOPAC does hold some information relating to your request.
Please see our response below:
1. When, how and by whom was the survey conducted (including the formulations used in the survey)
MOPAC commission Opinion Research Services (ORS) to conduct the Public Attitude Survey (PAS) to help us understand what Londoners are thinking about policing and crime. ORS interviewers visit randomly pre-selected residential addresses across London to conduct the survey via face to face interviewing. Pre-alert letters are sent to these addresses ahead of the interview taking place, to notify residents that they have been selected to take part in the survey. The survey is continuously in field (i.e. interviews are taking place daily) with results reported on a quarterly basis.
Findings from the survey are used to help inform decisions and to ensure that issues such as legitimacy, fairness, and public priorities are at the centre of policing in London. You can find out more here: https://www.london.gov.uk/what-we-do/mayors-office-policing-and-crime-mopac/data-and-statistics/taking-part-mopacs-surveys
2. Please provide a copy of the survey
Please find attached the 23/24 PAS questionnaire.
3. Please advise the results for each borough
The Borough results from the PAS can be found on the MOPAC Trust and Confidence dashboard: Increase trust and confidence – dashboard – London Datastore . Results are displayed for each borough separately. You can find the borough results by clicking on the ‘Perceptions’ tab on the dashboard.
