Summary of request
Request
I was looking to please request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act. I approached the Mayors Office, who directed me to MOPAC.
- How much the London Drugs Commission has cost to date?
- How many times the London Drugs Commission has met since it's launch (in May 2022)?
- How much Lord Falconer KC (and other members of the LDC) are/is remunerated (including pay) for their work on the LDC?
- In the original press release it says "the Commission will make a series of policy recommendations for City Hall, the Government, the police, the criminal justice system and public health services." - how many recommendations have been made to date?
Response
Thank you for your request for information which the Mayor's Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC) received on September 12, I apologise for the delay with this response.
I can confirm that your request has been being handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and that MOPAC does hold some information relating to your request.
Please see our response to your questions below:
- How much the London Drugs Commission has cost to date ?
£154,984
- How many times the London Drugs Commission has met since it's launch (in May 2022)?
83 (this includes online and in person meetings between LDC members only; LDC and UCL; LDC and Expert Reference Group, all formal evidence sessions).
- How much Lord Falconer KC (and other members of the LDC) are/is remunerated (including pay) for their work on the LDC?
Lord Falconer is taking no remuneration for his work chairing the LDC, neither are the eight members of the Expert Reference Group. A remuneration arrangement is in place for the Deputy Chairs. Both Janet Hills MBE and Prof Virginia Berridge are remunerated at a rate of £500 per diem.
- In the original press release it says "the Commission will make a series of policy recommendations for City Hall, the Government, the police, the criminal justice system and public health services." - how many recommendations have been made to date?
The Commission will set out a series of recommendations in its final report - the Commission has therefore made no recommendations to date and is still collecting its evidence. All recommendations will be available when the final report is published.
