The Mayor's Young Professionals Panel
Applications are now open for the next cohort of young leaders in infrastructure to contribute to the Mayor’s ambitious agenda.
We are inviting expressions of interest from a diverse cross-section of Londoners to join the panel.
About the panel
The Mayor of London’s Infrastructure Coordination Service drives better collaboration in the planning and delivery of London’s Infrastructure. It is implementing a range of innovative projects supported by policy work and tools to deliver long-term, sustainable change across the sector.
The Mayor’s Young Professionals Panel (YPP) was established in early 2019. Over the past six years, YPP cohorts have pursued joint research on topics of interest as well as provided feedback and advice on important policies and strategies relating to the sector. YPP members partner with the award-winning ICS, engaging wider industry on a range of initiatives.
Benefits of becoming a member
You will be part of the next generation of infrastructure leaders, grow your professional network, develop new skills, increase your visibility, gain exposure and insight, promote dialogue and generate innovative thinking on London’s future infrastructure.
You will also have access to senior infrastructure leaders through the Mayor’s Infrastructure Advisory Panel (IAP) and the Mayor’s London Infrastructure Group (LIG).
Notably, the last YPP cohort took part in an exciting reciprocal mentoring scheme with members of the Mayor’s London Infrastructure Group. This initiative paired YPP members with senior leaders from across the sector in a two-way mentoring relationship. Unlike traditional mentoring, reciprocal mentoring enables senior leaders to learn from more junior colleagues who bring different perspectives, often shaped by their diverse backgrounds. This approach supports mutual development, builds greater awareness of the barriers faced by underrepresented groups, and helps foster a more inclusive culture where all experiences and ideas are valued.
YPP provided invaluable opportunities to connect with many passionate professionals from the Mayor’s LIG and the IAP, alongside the broader planning and infrastructure industry, enriching our collective approach to inclusive and innovative infrastructure in London.
