Acton and Park Royal Zone
Ealing's Creative Enterprise Zone
The Acton and Park Royal Creative Enterprise Zone launched in 2022. Today, it’s home to hundreds of creatives, including artists, designers, makers, photographers, filmmakers and musicians.
Across the zone, there are 15 artists’ studios and creative workspaces, 3 large film studios, 14 smaller film, photography and recording studios, 3 rehearsal spaces, and over 10 creative manufacturing businesses.
What's on
Acton and Park Royal aims to support and protect the area’s thriving creative community for years to come.
The zone is working closely with the community to provide funding, training and employment opportunities – particularly for young people, business support, affordable creative workspaces and community events and activities.
This is to ensure homegrown creative industries, artists and businesses are at the heart of the regeneration and development in the area.

Park Royal Design District
At the heart of the Acton and Park Royal community is Park Royal Design District. This districts brings the area together by delivering a programme of engaging and inclusive projects and events. They support local people develop their careers and build their businesses in the arts and creative sector.
The district is also a prominent feature in the programmes of London Craft Week and London Design Festival. Every year, they showcase the zone’s talented creatives through a range of activities including open studios, pop-up shops, workshops, tours, events and exhibitions.
Re-Made in Park Royal
The zone is also home to Re-Made in Park Royal, a material recycling centre connecting artists and makers with waste and surplus materials from the local area.
So far 400 wood pallets, five movie sets, four tonnes of clay, two shop interiors and 100 kg of metal have collected. Materials have gone on to support artistic production across the zone, from making new park benches and planters to creating studio walls and cladding for workspaces.
Funding for creatives
In 2022, the zone launched an Open Call for innovative ideas to support creativity and opportunities in Acton and Park Royal.
More than £150,000 of funding to support the best ideas was provided, and the successful projects are currently delivering their ideas.
They are focussed on providing affordable community and creative spaces, developing creative talent and a digital network platform.
Affordable workspace and resources
Housed in the same building as Re-Made in Park Royal is the Park Royal Open Access Workshop (POW) which offers affordable workspace for creatives in the zone.
The location is ideal for makers, fabricators, freelancers, sole traders and artists looking for a shared working space.
At POW, there is also access to shared equipment and facilities, as well as flexible space to hold meetings, events, workshops, and activities.
Creative ambassadors
Meet the Acton and Park Royal zone's creative ambassadors – local champions who connect the community, support creative talent, and help shape the zone.
Republic of Park Royal
The Republic of Park Royal is an affordable creative studio provider, representing creatives based in the zone and Park Royal Design District.
In 2024, they opened Supermegahyperdupermarket Metroexpress, a warehouse shop showcasing hundreds of local artists.
La Plante Carnivore
La Plante Carnivore was created by Hanaa Bawamia in May 2022 and is named after her fascination for carnivorous plants and Mauritian roots.
Hanaa's colourful, locally produced and environmentally-friendly stationery designs are inspired by English and Mauritian flora, and personal stories.
David Samuels
David Samuels is an artist and designer in North Acton, whose work explores connection, movement, and human experience through a distinct abstract visual language.
David is also the founder and creative director at RareKind, a prolific creative agency and the UK’s first dedicated graffiti art gallery.
