This June, Carnaby and Soho unite to celebrate Soho Music Month and the area’s rich music heritage.
Soho Music Month is a free music and cultural festival taking place in multiple venues in Carnaby and Soho between 1 and 30 June, highlighting some of the best in established and emerging talent that London has to offer. As part of the festival and a celebration of women in music, Independent Label Market will curate an incredible all-female line-up for the first time. Female founders of independent record labels will take over Berwick Street Market on Saturday 16 June, with a selection of vinyl stalls selling the best of their roster. Local independent radio station Soho Radio provide the soundtrack with an exclusive live broadcast from the market.
The month-long Soho Music Month celebration will include hub and exhibition space “PLATFORM LDN” at 3 Carnaby Street. Open 7-days a week, PLATFORM LDN will host a variety of free events from a Reprezent Radio residency with live broadcasts, a panel event with GRM Daily to exclusive book signings with legendary DJ, Jumping Jack Frost and BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra's DJ Target.
Every Thursday evening in June, Carnaby’s Newburgh Quarter will host a series of free outdoor gigs dedicated to showcasing the diversity of the London music scene. The Newburgh Quarter Sessions will go live 5pm – 9pm under ‘The Plug’ light installation on Ganton Street. Expect female only DJ line-ups and exciting upcoming talent.
