Discover a new kind of jazz. Let Laura showcase her next generation jazz, which takes influences from more modern, electronic sounds. They’ll be played alongside some compelling visual projections. The concert will light up an already colourful venue, named after a larger-than-life Londoner.

It was hard to miss Jack Solomons in Soho in the 1940s and 1950s. His boxing gym once stood on the site of the bar which now takes his name. The bar, so it's said, is the kind of bar that Jack would have liked to have owned all those years ago.

Developing over the last year and a half beyond her first instrument, saxophone, Laura’s focus has been using electronics to generate sax-layered soundscapes. Laura makes both instrumental music and songs primarily on the cyclical themes of: connection, presence and release, the saxophone threading throughout everything.

She debuted her solo set in 2016 at the Camden Assembly alongside jazz and soul luminaries Soweto Kinch, Andrew Ashong, and Binker & Moses and her brilliant first LP, Playground, led her to being invited into play live on 6 Music with none other than Gilles Peterson.
