History Speak

Manasi Pophale is the Creative Director of History Speak - a consultancy that explores multiple narratives of history. She conducts the British Empire walking tour to explore colonisation, decolonisation and imperial legacy through statues and monuments in Westminster London.

As a designer, she encourages her guests to interpret how stories are constructed through spatial elements. Public spaces are layered with stories and histories. Through their design and materiality, many of our shared spaces tell stories of conflict and change; memorialisation and marginalisation; colonial pasts and complex presents. She delivers fresh perspectives on dominant narratives and connects the past with the present.
