Association of Sikh Art & Cultural Heritage (ASACH) is a Sikh community non-profit organisation dedicated to educate, inspire and celebrate the artistic and cultural heritage of the Sikhs in creating community cohesion and positive change in society through its cultural programme, including walking tours of London.
With twenty years experience, the Founder & Director of ASACH, Jasleen Kandhari has delivered tours on Sikh art and cultural heritage since 2003 nationally as well as internationally, including at the National Museums ranging from the British Museum and the Ashmolean Museum at the University of Oxford to the Government Museum in Chandigarh, Punjab and the National Museum of India in New Delhi. She leads Sikh art, textiles and cultural heritage tours to the Punjab in north-western India.
Jasleen has lectured on the history of Indian art and textiles at the University of Oxford over the past decade, including her ground-breaking course on 'Textiles of the Sikhs and the Punjab' with her research focussing on Sikh art and material culture of the Punjab and is an internationally renowned lecturer at academic conferences in the history of art, Sikh, religious and historical studies, anthropology, textiles, comics and popular culture.
Jasleen is the author of the forthcoming book, the Thames & Hudson, world of art series, 'Sikh Art & Architecture', the curator of the pioneering 'Sikh Comics: Culture & Heritage' exhibition and is the creator of the world's first Sikh female superhero comic book, 'Super Singhani'. She is the first Sikh and female antiques expert of colour to feature on the popular BBC Antiques Roadshow TV programme.
