In the light of recent media allegations, the London Assembly Audit Panel will meet tomorrow to consider the internal auditor’s interim review of the Royal Albert Dock procurement exercise.
The role of the Assembly is to act as a check and balance on the activities of the Mayor, which is why the Panel is considering the review document and discussing any further action.
Here is the timeline of events so far:
24 October 2014 - The Mayor first received notification from Channel 4 News of allegations regarding the Royal Albert Dock procurement exercise and immediately sought advice from GLA officers.
28 October 2014 - Internal audit was asked to begin work on a review of the Royal Albert Dock procurement process.
13 November 2014 - Allegations aired on Channel 4 News.
18 November 2014 - Audit report received (late in the evening).
19 November 2014 - Audit report published.
19 November 2014 - Issues debated at Mayor’s Question Time.
2 December 2014 - Assembly Audit Panel meets to address issues arising
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 2 December from 9.30am in Committee Room 4, at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
