London’s public transport network and London’s streets can be difficult for people to navigate around. There are a number of barriers to their access and use for disabled people and older people.
Tomorrow, the London Assembly Transport Committee will hold an open mic forum with a range of representatives from disability charities and community groups to hear their thoughts on the accessibility and inclusiveness of the transport system.
How can the system be improved?
Topics for discussion will include:
- Inclusive design and improving accessibility and inclusivity in terms of infrastructure, communication and technology
- Inclusive service delivery with staff training and increasing public awareness
- Feeling in charge of your own journey
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 8 January 2020 at 10:00am in The Chamber (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via webcast or YouTube
