PUBLIC MEETINGS: Tuesday 2 September 2014 Taxi and Private Hire Services Transport Committee – 10.00am in Committee Room 5 The Transport Committee will explore what the Mayor and TfL are doing to address the many issues currently facing the Taxi and Private Hire industry. The following guests will be questioned:

The Committee will question the following guests,

  • Stephen Greenhalgh, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime.

Issues will include investigating corruption, taser use, funding for victims’ support services and an update on water cannon. MEDIA CONTACT: Alison Bell on 020 7983 4228 SITE VISIT Tuesday 2 September 2014 Taxi and Private Hire services Transport Committee – from 3.00pm Transport Committee will undertake a site visit to a central London location to watch a compliance operation involving TfL Compliance Officers, the Met Cab Enforcement Unit, Police and the Department for Work and Pension. It will include the inspection of both Taxi and Private Hire vehicles and their drivers to ensure they are licenced and fit for purpose.
