The movement of freight in London is vital for the capital’s businesses and its economy. In recent years, the rise of online shopping and purchasing via a mobile device has fuelled the number of freight trips made in London.
However, 90 per cent of these trips are carried out by road and therefore contribute to congestion, poor air quality and carbon emissions.
Tomorrow, the London Assembly Transport Committee will discuss the challenges of moving freight around the capital and what Transport for London (TfL) is doing to improve delivery of freight in London.
The guests are:
- Alex Williams, Director of City Planning, TfL
- Rob Fowler, CSR & technical Planning, DPD Group UK
- Natalie Chapman, Head of South of England & Urban Policy, Freight Transport Association
- Jace Tyrell, Chief Executive, New West End Company
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 5 February 2019 at 10:00am in Committee Room 5 (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via webcast or Youtube.
