On the buses – how to improve London’s network

Two buses side by side
Created on
28 June 2022

London’s bus network is an integral part of London’s transport network with 59 per cent of Londoners saying they travel by bus at least once a week. Any changes to the bus network could potentially have a significant impact on Londoners, including groups that rely on the bus more than others.

Government recovery plans include new funding to ‘Bus Back Better’ and Transport for London (TfL) published its Bus Action Plan in March. At the start of the month TfL launched a consultation on its Central London Bus Review, including changes and reductions to bus services.

The London Assembly Transport Committee is conducting a two-part investigation into London’s bus network. The first meeting was a Q&A session with London TravelWatch, a former bus driver and other passenger groups, to better understand their needs as part of a well-functioning transport system.

Tomorrow, the Committee will hold the second meeting of its investigation, this time with TfL. The guests are:

      • Andy Lord, Chief Operating Officer, TfL
      • Geoff Hobbs, Director of Public Transport Service Planning, TfL
      • Tom Cunnington, Head of Buses Business Development, TfL

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 29 June 2022 from 10.00am, in The Chamber, at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way

Media and members of the public are invited to attend.

The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube
