New Assembly Fire Committee meets for the first time

The London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA) has been abolished, and a statutory London Fire Commissioner (LFC) established. The new legislation has given the Mayor the power to establish a new Deputy Mayor for Fire and obliged the London Assembly to establish a new scrutiny committee.

The London Assembly Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee meets for the first time tomorrow. The guests are:

  • Dr Fiona Twycross AM, Deputy Mayor for Fire and Resilience
  • Dany Cotton QFSM, London Fire Commissioner

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Fire safety in tall buildings post Grenfell

The meeting will take place on Thursday, 17 May from 2:30pm in The Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
