The Changing Nature of Work after COVID-19

Economy Committee – 10am

The Economy Committee will look at the impact of the changing nature of work on the city. Before COVID-19, millions of people used to travel to various parts of London for work. In April 2020, 57.2% of Londoners were working from home. With COVID-19 forcing many workers to continue to work from home 8 months on, the Committee will discuss whether current commercial and office space should be re-purposed to ensure London remains a thriving economy. Police & Fire Budgets 2021/22

Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee – 10am

The Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the London Fire Brigade (LFB) and question the London Fire Commissioner on the delivery of the LFB’s transformation plan. The Committee will also ask for an update on the implementation of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase 1 Report and Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services’ (HMICFRS) recommendations and progress of the new London Safety Plan. TfL Budget for 2021/22

Budget & Performance Committee – 2pm

The Budget and Performance Committee will review Transport for London’s (TfL) proposed budget plans for 2021/22. The impact of COVID-19 on TfL’s finances means that budget planning for the coming years will be more crucial than ever. The guests are:

The London Assembly will hold a Q&A session with the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, on issues that matter to Londoners. Topics up for discussion include:

  • Air pollution above WHO limits
  • Future of City Hall
