What will I be doing?

  • Lewisham Youth Theatre seeks volunteer Directing and Workshop Assistants to help support our vibrant programme of youth theatre activities.
  • The Drama Workshop/Directing Assistant role is a hands -on placement working closely with the Lead Directors to help plan and support drama workshops and rehearsals, including providing pastoral care for the participants.
  • Encouraging participants to take part and get the most out of the sessions. Supporting small Groups to complete exercises & tasks set by the lead directors.
  • Rehearsing scenes and running lines with participants. Taking registers and calling young people/parents who have not arrived. Supporting backstage during performances to make sure actors are in the right place and have the right costumes/props.
