What will I be doing?

  • Representing the DSM Foundation in your school, college and/or community and at events
  • Planning, designing and delivering drug and alcohol education assemblies to younger students
  • Creating resources for the Foundation to use with young people, including information and advice
  • Organising a fundraising activity to raise funds for the charity within the school community
  • Input into DSM Foundation consultation and focus group activities to inform the charity’s developments and plans
  • Attending induction and training including drug and alcohol awareness, peer mentoring and safeguarding

Commitment

  • Over the school year you will need to be flexible and willing to offer 15-30 hours. This will include initial training followed by self directed work creating resources, planning assemblies or workshops, supporting at various events.
  • We have several activities and events you can join throughout your time with us, our aim is to unlock your super skill and help you find the best way you can support young people via our foundation.

What else do I need to know?

  • Creativity - developing ideas for YouTube, online resources, visual informative material
    Leadership - Independence - travelling to meetings and events, developing ideas.
    Teamwork - working on projects and campaigns with your YA team

  • Presenting - developing and presenting projects, meeting new people, travelling to new places
    Planning and organising - organising activities including fundraising, volunteering at events, presenting workshops
  • Problem Solving - volunteering at events, presenting workshops and assemblies
