What will I be doing?

  • Homework support - helping young people after school in completing homework.
  • Young Carers youth group support - fun, chilled out activities with the opportunity to be and think creatively.
  • Trips/Residentials - opportunity to support with monthly trips and annual residentials with young carers groups.
  • Building positive relationships with young carers, motivating young carers to develop and achieve aspirations, develop skills and confidence

What impact will this have?

  • Create an engaging and supportive environment for young carers to meet and socialise, and participate in fun and creative activities.
  • Create a non judgemental and motivating environment for young carers to be able to voice their opinions and shape the services that they receive
  • Support young carers with literacy and numeracy and support them to achieve academically
  • Create a respite environment for young carers to support young people in achieving their potential, and think aspirationally.

Commitment

  • Monday 3.15pm - 4.45pm
    Wednesday 4.30pm - 7.30pm
    Friday 3.30pm -8:00pm (hrs TBC) or within this time frame
  • One off all day volunteering during half term and summer holidays to support day trips or residential trips over weekends.

Expenses

  • Full London public transport travel expenses
    Lunch expenses up to £5
    Any other out of pocket expenses upon agreement and authorisation with the volunteers supervisor

Background checks

  • A DBS check is required
