What will I be doing?

  • Answering the phone and buzzing clients in when they arrive. Welcoming clients to the Centre, asking what help they need and responding appropriately e.g. booking appointments or signposting to external service. Assisting with the collection of mail.
  • Conduct short initial face-to-face assessments particularly with clients wishing to access education/learning services.
  • Liaise with the staff team to decide if they can be supported by our services or by referral to external agencies; and communicating the chosen path to the client.
  • Identify (with the support of the team) emergency cases and refer such clients to the Duty Officer.
  • Being clear about what we can and cannot help with.
  • Other tasks that can be undertaken during quieter periods: Adding client to the database. Assisting clients and staff with phone calls. Provide some basic support services under supervision (such as completing some Welfare Benefit Claim forms).
