What will I be doing?

  • Helping to plan and organise group walks for older people (aged 55 and over)
  • Taking a register of people joining the walks
  • Leading regular walks for older people (aged 55 and over) with fellow volunteers
  • Making sure that the walks are paced to suit everyone and keeping everyone together
  • Being alert to the needs of individuals in the group - for example if someone needs to rest for a while
  • Involving walkers in the planning of walks

Commitment

  • One full day's training
    Approximately 2 hours once a week or every other week tba

Expenses

  • Travel expenses will be paid - usually public transport to and from the Community Centre

Training

  • Health Walks are in partnership with the London Borough of Camden.

  • Volunteers will attend a one day training session delivered by Camden
  • Volunteers must also attend/ join a Health Walk prior to attending training
