What will I be doing?

  • There is an exciting opportunity to work with King’s College London (Psychology Department) in partnership with Citizen’s UK.

  • We are looking for volunteers/students to assist us with recruitment and data collection for a study evaluating the impact of a new support group for mothers and pregnant women on mental health and social support.
  • The role would involve attending a Mums group called Espacio Mama each week (for up to 1.5hours) and helping new parents to complete three simple psychological assessments (approx. 10 mins per mum).

What impact will this have?

  • The research collected will allow PACT to improve its services and maximise the support given to families in Southwark.
  • Volunteers also play an integral role in promoting social integration, combating isolation and improving the well being of the parents that attend our groups.
  • Through building positive relationships within our community, volunteers directly help to empower parents and improve the health and development outcomes for young children in the area.
  • By providing a reliable human connection, volunteers help to engage a number of hard-to-reach communities who don't normally access health and social services in Southwark.
